Fundación Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos

Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos Foundation – The Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos Foundation has been working “for the dignity of children in Latin America” for 60 years. Since 1954, this NGO has established children’s homes in Mexico, Honduras, Haiti, Nicaragua, Guatemala, El Salvador, the Dominican Republic, Peru and Bolivia. And thanks to these facilities, it has been able to take in up to 18,000 children, who have grown up within this large family and are now playing a part in the development of their countries.

The NGO Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos (NPH) was founded by the Catholic priest William B. Wasson in 1954, in the Mexican town of Cuernavaca. Its aim is to provide solutions for orphaned and abandoned children who suffer from social exclusion and extreme poverty in Latin America. It is currently estimated that 3,500 children are growing up and being educated in its homes. NPH provides all of them with an education, food, healthcare and a place to live.

Support the Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos Foundation

For those who wish to get involved in the project, NPH offers five ways to get involved:

  1. Sponsoring a child: Sponsors contribute towards the education, food and healthcare of the child they sponsor, with a monthly contribution of 24 euros. There are channels of communication with the sponsored children, via post and home visits.
  2. Associate partner: By making regular contributions towards the education, nutrition and health of the 3,500 children living in NPH homes. By supporting NPH’s St Damien Hospital in Haiti or any other programme you feel connected to.
  3. One-off donation: The choice is always yours. You can help by donating school supplies, medicines, clothes, or helping to build a school…
  4. Charitable Bequest: To bequeath a portion of your estate to NPH, specifying in your will that this contribution is for the cause.
  5. Volunteering: People who are committed to society, who wish to get involved in the project and instil positive values in the children living in an NPH home.
  6. CSR and Business Programme: A collaborative programme that enables people within an organisation to develop their humanity and spirit of solidarity by volunteering at an NPH home, by visiting it, or through Teaming, by donating a portion of their salary (€1 per month) to educational, healthcare and nutritional programmes. The company doubles the amount contributed by its employees at the end of the year.

And remember: all organisations and individuals who make donations to the NPH Foundation will be able to claim tax relief on their contributions with the tax authorities. In accordance with the current Law 49/2002 on foundations.
