Last Thursday, 17 May, Beauty Cluster Barcelona held its 2018 Ordinary General Assembly. The annual event, which this year took place at the Fundació Miró, was attended by around 80 members of the cluster. The annual report of the institution was presented, which sets out the actions, activities and management of the cluster. The Assembly also served to renew the Board of Directors.

Tim Eaves, CEO of Quadpack Group, has become the new president of Beauty Cluster Barcelona. And Montserrat Martí, CEO of Martiderm, is stepping down as president and becoming strategic vice-president of the cluster. Elena Grau, CEO at EG Active Cosmetics, will now occupy the position of operational vice-president.

Annual Report 2017: the BCB in numbers
The 2018 Ordinary General Assembly was also the moment chosen to present the Annual Report. In its four years of existence, the cluster has never stopped moving forward. BCB has grown in number of members: it ended 2017 with 117, 19 more than in the previous year. It has also grown in terms of staff, reaching 5 full-time employees. And today, on the day of the assembly, we are already 139 members.
However, what we believe is most interesting is its growth in terms of activities and initiatives for members. In the last year, the cluster has organised business missions to Seoul (South Korea) and Tokyo (Japan), and participated in major industry conferences around Europe, such as InCosmetics (London).
In addition, training sessions have been organised, some by the members themselves and others with sector specialists from outside the cluster. And the now classic conferences: Beauty Cluster Cocktail, Beauty International Markets Day, Beauty Innovation Day... In short, more than 80 scheduled activities, almost two per week.
