ISO 16128-1: technical definitions for natural and organic products and ingredients in cosmetics

For some time now, numerous companies and organisations have been highlighting the benefits of the natural cosmetics. However, until now there had been no consensus regarding the terminology second-hand and the ranking of these products.

In response to this flood of new products and consumers of natural and organic cosmetics, an ISO working group published, on 15 February, the first edition of the new ISO 16128-1, which sets out a series of guidelines for the technical definition and criteria for classifying cosmetic ingredients and products as natural and organic.

We are pleased to inform you that as of today, Tuesday 12 April, we have received at the Technical Pharmaceutical Office M. Camps has sent us the copy we had requested. We hope to be able to put it to good use very soon to provide day-to-day advice on natural cosmetics and, as is customary in our firm, to offer the very best service to our clients in this product sector.
