As many of you already know, the Gabinete Técnico Farmacéutico M. Camps publishes the weekly Rapex Report on products recalled in the EU, focusing on the recall of cosmetic products and analysing the products reported by the Spanish authorities. However, last week we were fully occupied at the Cosmetorium trade fair, where we celebrated our 25th anniversary as a regulatory affairs consultancy, and we have decided to combine the last two reports into a single post.
Rapex report for Friday 23 September
Two weeks ago on Friday, Rapex withdrew 26 products from the European market. Of these, only one was Spanish, which we consider to be good news. As regards the cosmetics sector, there were two bans: a shampoo and shower gel and an eye mask, both manufactured in European Union countries, which were withdrawn by the Czech authorities for failing to comply with the Regulation. Rapex report for Friday 30 September
Last Friday, a large number of products were recalled across the EU, with as many as 50 bans imposed in Member States. Spain reported the recall of 10 products, a very high figure, particularly when compared with the figures we had been seeing throughout September. As regards the cosmetics sector, there was just one ban: a henna powder for tattoos manufactured in Pakistan, which was withdrawn for failing to comply with the Regulation.
