Last Friday, 23 December, the European Commission presented the latest report of the EU's Rapid Alert System for Consumers, the Rapex Report 23-12-2016. In this last edition of the year, up to 78 articles were withdrawn from the common market for not complying with European regulations.

Spain, on the other hand, did not submit a single one of these 78 alerts, which is rare for one of the countries that traditionally holds the most items at its borders.

Rapex Report 23-12-2016: Recall of foot cream from Russia

In relation to the cosmetic sector, there has been only one product recalled: a foot cream of Russian origin. The Estonian authorities have withdrawn this cosmetic because it was contaminated with mesophilic aerobic bacteria, and therefore did not comply with Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 for cosmetic products.
