Infarma 2023: a brief report on this year’s event in Barcelona
The European Pharmacy Conference -better known as Infarma 2023– has once again been held at the Fira de Barcelona on 14, 15 and 16 March 2023, chaired by Jordi Casas, President of the Barcelona College of Pharmacists (COFB) . This event, which takes place in our city every two years, is divided into two distinct sections:
- On the one hand, the European Congress of Community Pharmacies, a venue offering a wealth of educational activities, and boasting a packed programme of conferences, presentations, round-table discussions, workshops… for the more than 3,000 registered delegates. On this occasion, the Congress featured 80 sessions, y 175 speakers and moderators.
- And on the other hand, the Medicines and Parapharmacy Fair, which is where the exhibiting companies are based, and which becomes a key meeting point for attendees and for companies in the sector to develop their business strategies.
In addition, the event was attended by 149 scientific posters, which have been on display for attendees to see. Infarma 2023 It has closed its doors, once again breaking attendance records – with 34,227 visitors and 3,542 conference delegates– and exhibition space – with 32,000 m² and 285 direct exhibitors, a 19%, an improvement on the previous edition.
AYear on year, this industry event, organised by the Barcelona College of Pharmacists (COFB)the Official College of Pharmacists of Madrid (COFM) and the company Among other things, calls for closer monitoring. Both on the part of the companies in the sector, which are demanding ever-greater exhibition space, as well as an increasing number of visitors.
And that, ultimately, shows us just how robust the sector pharma, which continues to grow unstoppably, undeterred by crises or pandemics. Which, year after year, carries out research, innovates and strives to improve itself. And which continues to employ many thousands of people in Spain and create new jobs.
Mercè Camps, the director of GTF M. Camps, new member of Pharmacists Without Borders
The Director of the Pharmaceutical Technical Office, Mercè Camps, has been a regular attendee at Infarma events for many years. On a number of occasions, moreover, thanks to her extensive knowledge of the regulatory field, she has acted as a moderator or speaker at some of the conferences organised as part of the European Congress of Community Pharmacy.
However, in this edition of Infarma 2023 We were able to see this veteran pharmacist – pictured here alongside another colleague, Ana Aliaga– in charge of the stand at Pharmacists Without Borders (FSF).
The fact is that for the past few months, Mercè Camps has become a board member of this non-profit organisation. And, after the FSF asked him to help organise their stand at Infarma 2023, couldn’t pass up this opportunity to lend a hand to the organisation, which had set up a small information stand very close to our colleagues from the Beauty Cluster Barcelona.
