Farmaforum 2022: an event aimed at professionals from the pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical and laboratory technology industries.

Farmaforum has ended its eighth edition with very good results, both in terms of the number of exhibitors (250 companies) and visitors, as well as the good reception of its conferences. And the fact is that the quality of the speakers -many of them working in the health authorities - as well as the presence of international actorshas proved to be a success for the event.

In fact, the opening lecture itself was given by one of the most vocal people in the field of medicines regulation at the national level: Antonio BlázquezHead of the Department for Medicinal Products for Human Use at the Spanish Agency for Medicines and Health Products (AEMPS).

It should be noted that part of the organisational success of the Forum is to have associations and institutions acting as partners. Entities that are highly reputable - and influential - within the industry.

To give a few examples, among the cosmetics industry's partners, we can identify Stanpa, Beauty Cluster Barcelonathe Spanish Society of Cosmetic Chemists (SEQC) or the Spanish Association of Cosmetic Ingredients. In the self-care sector, they have been able to rely on the Association for Self-Care in Health (Anefp). And in the biopharmaceutical and health technologies industry, with the cluster CataloniaBio & HealthTech or the Spanish Association of Biocompanies (ASEBIO), among many others.

Farmaforum 2022 has shown, between 5 and 6 October, that it has been able to become a reference eventWe are looking forward to the Forum, both nationally and internationally, in the field of pharmaceuticals and laboratory technologies. We look forward to participating in future editions of the Forum.

FarmaForum 2022 : Crónica de Mercè Camps

Farmaforum 2022: Chronicle by Mercè Camps

Ms. Mercè Camps came as CEO of Gabinete Técnico Farmacéutico M. Camps to this important event in the sector. And he wanted to share in this blog some notes on what was most relevant that was discussed at the forum:

We were able to see the participation of a company that specialises in the introduction of cosmetics in China. China is increasingly demanding more quality and above all efficacy studies, offering transparency and accessibility to consumers through the publication of its studies on public platforms, thereby seeking to enhance the value of cosmetic products and their claims.

Another of the important issues raised on the same day by STANPA with the intervention of Oscar MateoHe provided very significant figures and data, highlighting above all the growth of the cosmetics market in pharmacies.

It is true that the pharmacy during the pandemic did not close down, on the contrary, it was a point of contact for citizens, but in COVID mattersnot for the sale of cosmetic products, at least not as the first choice, but as a centre for consultation and advice from the pharmacist on skin-related issues, also in times of pandemic. sales in pharmacies grew by 4%.

The fastest growing products in pharmacies were oral hygiene and skin care, followed by sun protection. The online sales was the big alternative during the pandemic and achieved a growth of over 10%. However, now that customer service has been restored and we are back to normality, the sector is noticing a significant growth in physical outlets. "We are still looking for information on the internet, but we want to consult the expert, in this case the pharmacist, for the final opinion.

Also noteworthy is the intervention by Pilar Garcia, Technical Director of STANPAwho outlined the developments in the EU on the cosmetics regulationHe said that there are paradigm shifts, adopting measures based on the danger of the use of certain substances instead of measures based on risk, as was currently the case. In the security assessmentIn the light of these new measures and new recommendations, these new measures and new recommendations will have to be taken into account.
