Cosmetics Special 2021: a special issue on the cosmetics sector
For some years now, the magazine Pharmatech: Equipment, Processes and Technology publishes an annual special issue devoted to current developments in the cosmetics sector. And for the last four editions, that issue has been edited by the pharmacist and RAFC member, Mercè Campsdirector of Gabinete Técnico Farmacéutico M. Camps and one of the leading specialists in the sector at national level.
Issue 59 of Pharmatech, the institutional magazine of the Spanish Association of Industrial Pharmacists (AEFI), contains a large number of articles by specialists. In it, we have sought to give a voice both to private cosmetics companies, which contribute to innovation in the sector on a daily basis, and to prestigious professional organisations such as the Association for Self-Care (ANEFP).
Furthermore, as its publication coincides with the conference Cosmetorium 2021, we took the opportunity to interview its director, Aurora Benaiges, to find out the latest industry news.

Mercè Camps is a leading figure at national level in the field of cosmetics regulation. This experienced pharmacist, a former member of the Dermopharmacy Committee of the General Council of Pharmaceutical Associations and a member of the Royal Academy of Pharmacy of Catalonia has devoted his professional career to the safety of cosmetic products.
Its Pharmaceutical Technical Advisory Board, established 30 years ago, has advised nearly 2,000 companies on how to launch and develop new, innovative projects within the cosmetics sector. As a result, Camps has helped to give a significant boost to the domestic sector in terms of competitiveness, quality and safety of cosmetic products.
