The Reial Acadèmia de Farmàcia de Catalunya (RAFC) acollirà el pròxim Tuesday 20 May 2026, at 6:30 p.m., an important round table under the official title: «Prevenció del càncer de pell: Classificació, dades claus, fotoprotecció i educació sanitària».».
The event, organised by Section VI (Pharmaceutical Assistance) of the institution, will be a open doors day. It will take place in the Assembly Hall of the Academy (Barcelona) and will be open to all interested members of the public, with the participation of recognised experts in the fields of medical research, cosmetic formulation and pharmaceutical care.
The event will be presented and moderated by the Dr. Mercè Camps Miró, and the corresponding pharmaceutical and academic studies.
Programme and speakers
The round table will be structured around three keynote speeches that will address the disease from different perspectives that are fundamental for public health and health education:

«The Thousand Faces of Skin Cancer» A càrrec de la Dr. Susana Puig, Director of IDIBAPS, Director of Research and Innovation at the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona and Professor at the University of Barcelona (UB).

“Intelligent photoprotection: how sunscreens protect the skin against UV radiation”.” A càrrec de la Ms. Carmina Casas, Senior Account Manager Beauty & Care a DSM-FIRMENICH, specialist in photoprotection, sunscreens and cosmetic formulation, and president of the IFSCC (2023).

«Health education and the role of the pharmacist in sun damage prevention and photoprotection».» A càrrec de la Dr. Ana M. Aliaga Pérez, and the corresponding pharmaceutical and academic studies.
At the end of the speeches, there will be a torn obert de preguntes for all attendees, promoting debate and the resolution of doubts about sun protection and the early detection of skin cancer.
The organisation of the event has the institutional support of the president of the section, the Dr. Carles Codina Jané, and the secretary, the Dr. M. Queralt Gorgas i Torner, who invite all health professionals and citizens to attend.
