Of these, the one that tends to cause the most damage to the skin is, without doubt, chemotherapy. However, all of them pose a potential risk to the skin.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The&nbsp;<strong>The effects that cancer treatment may have on our skin can vary greatly<\/strong>. In some cases, skin sensitivity may occur. In others, dermatitis, redness or inflammation. Cases of dry skin are also common. And some patients may even experience itching. Fortunately, over the last decade the cosmetics industry has developed a wide range of products specifically designed for cancer patients. This campaign also culminated in the celebration on 13 October of the&nbsp;<em>World Metastatic Breast Cancer Day.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The initiative was so successful that, in the following year, many other countries joined both the wider breast cancer campaign and the awareness day for metastatic breast cancer. And thanks to the magazine\u2019s coverage&nbsp;<strong>Est\u00e9e Lauder<\/strong>, a new global symbol for the fight against cancer was introduced: the pink scarf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Later on, the<strong>&nbsp;World Health Organisation (WHO)<\/strong>&nbsp;added another date to the calendar, that of the&nbsp;<strong>World Breast Cancer Day<\/strong>. This new event, which takes place on<strong>&nbsp;19 October,&nbsp;<\/strong>aims to raise awareness amongst people worldwide of the importance of prevention and early diagnosis of this disease, which affects millions of women and men across the globe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We cannot stress this enough: when it comes to breast cancer, it is essential to attend the screening appointments that will be arranged for you by your local public health centre. And if you notice any unusual lumps in your breast, consult your doctor as soon as possible.
